'Here Come the Tears' is the best album Anderson has been involved with since 'Coming Up' - though the best songs here are more akin to Suede's 'Obsessions' than their earlier work. Perhaps if we lived in a singles culture, The Tears could have broke Anderson & Butler back in with a single or two, an e.p. or a mini-LP?/5(61).

Jun 25,  · referencing Here Come The Tears, CD, Album, ISOM49CD I find it so strange that this album isn't more well liked. I listened to it to death back in the day, and even my non-Suede loving partner of the time enjoyed it greatly/5().

That album appeared a month after Butler's good but roundly ignored reunion with McAlmont, meaning that by the end of , both men were free to pursue new projects -- or revive old alliances as the case may be, since Anderson and Butler buried the hatchet in and formed a new band, the Tears, releasing its debut album, Here Come the Tears.

The album charted at number 15 in the UK. The NME were favourable, calling it, "The best album you'll hear this year, by a mile". Some reviewers felt that the album sounded like later Suede material. Stephen Thomas Erlewine noted that, "Here Come the Tears is what Coming Up would have been if Butler had stuck around.".
